Achieving the PMI-PBA® certification signifies that one has attained a professional level of competence and knowledge in Business Analysis.
This course is suitable for individuals with IT Business Analysis experience, particularly those who hold a PMP® certification or are familiar with the PMBOK® Guide and wish to earn the PBA certification.
Business Analysis is a discipline typically undertaken by Business Analysts (BA). In an organization, BAs are crucial roles within the IT department, acting as a bridge between IT and other departments to conduct requirement analysis.
A Business Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring a company's operational success. Modern businesses rely heavily on IT systems and applications for their operations, which require automation in workflows and processes. Projects are essential for developing and integrating these systems, and the success of such projects significantly impacts the organization.
The primary goal of a project is to meet the business needs of various departments. Failure to do so can result in wasted resources and financial loss. Accurately capturing requirements and delivering solutions that fulfill these needs are crucial for project success. When requirements are unclear or involve multiple stakeholders (internal users), the role of the BA becomes particularly vital.
According to PMI®’s 2014 report, the number one reason for project failures is poor requirement management. Identifying true requirements can be challenging, underscoring the importance of Business Analysts.
Currently, there are two major certifications in the Business Analysis field:
Despite appearing to trail behind IIBA, PMI®'s reputation is significant. Over 600,000 professionals have earned the PMP® certification, with millions attempting it. Many PMP® holders pursue the PMI-PBA certification, making it increasingly popular.
While IIBA focuses on broad Business Analysis, PMI-PBA emphasizes assisting project managers with requirement management. Additionally, 30% of the PMI-PBA exam content is derived from the PMBOK® Guide, making it advantageous for recent PMP® graduates to pursue. Obtaining PMI-PBA first and then CBAP later, if needed, could be a strategic approach.
The course is primarily conducted in English.
